Guyrope Gourmet - Favourite Campsites

Here is a list of favourite campsites which appear in no particular order, other than the fact that they all provide excellent locations.

Upper Booth Farm High in the Peak District at the start of the Pennine Way. Its based on a working farm set in amazing countryside. It's a small site so a quick telephone call to see if spaces are available is recommended. They do 'Hampers for Campers' which is a terrific way of supporting the local economy and saving you a trip to the shops at the same time!

Mason's Campsite set by the side of the river Wharfe in the Yorkshire Dales is without doubt on of the flattest pitches around. Its a wonderful site with excellent facilities and amazing views. There is a terrific riverside walk along the Wharfe to Burnsall, where you can grab lunch in the Red Lion. Don't forget your swimwear because there are some cool deep swimming holes just downstream from the campsite.

Aberafon Perched on a small cliff top on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales, this site has it all. A short walk down to its own shingle beach, spectacular sunsets and a backdrop of mountains. Claire & Hugh will look after you well!
